A lifelong Dumont resident, Marty Caspare is currently serving his first year as a Dumont Councilman. Marty is the Chair of the Building and Grounds committee, serves on the Police and Recreation committees and was the liaison to the Zoning Board. For over three decades, Marty has been a coach at Dumont High School, where he has taught physical education and health and has served as a class advisor and as a football, track, cross country and basketball coach.
He is the co-chairman of the 5K Run for Fun Committee to benefit children with cancer, as well as the founder and chairperson of Dumont Captains for Tomorrow’s Children, a program where all captains of Dumont High School sports teams visit pediatric cancer patients at Hackensack University Medical Center.
Marty and Debra Caspare are the parents of two daughters. Marty is a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Bergen County Coaches Association, the Bergen County Women’s Coaches Association, the New Jersey Education Association, the Dumont High School Hall of Fame and the New Jersey State Hall of Fame.
